When darkness surrounds us, and the light is hard to see, faith becomes an anchor. The artist of this song used the words of the classic psalm to get through the darkest times of his incarceration. Before he ever knew about the pros and cons program or the possibility of recording this song, he would hum this tune to keep grounded in his faith. To remember that no matter how dark the surroundings are God is with him.
